AKCG Garners Five Awards at Pepperpot Ceremonies

Mount Laurel, NJ - December 3, 2009  - Anne Klein Communications Group capped off the year by capturing five awards at the annual Pepperpot Awards event sponsored by the Philadelphia chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA Philadelphia).

“We were very pleased to see the excellence of our work and our team recognized by our peers,” said Anne Klein, APR, Fellow PRSA. “The year was a challenge because of the recession, but we persevered, focused on our clients’ needs, and succeeded beyond our expectations. We are looking forward to an exciting new year.”

Anne Klein Communications Group won two first-place and two second-place awards for projects completed in 2009. John Moscatelli, the firm’s chief operating officer, received the Frank X. Long award for Excellence in Writing, recognizing his 40-plus years as a public relations planner, strategist and writer.

Two of the awards highlight the firm’s growing capability to operate effectively within the social media environment. Mike Gross and Chris Lukach, two of the firm’s co-owners, developed a special Web site, in concert with Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries, to promote and support an online community among Diakon’s Adoption and Foster Care program families.

A winning editorial on social media written by Lukach, published widely in the public relations trade media, was the most highly read editorial published in its online newsletter, according to the Council of PR Firms. Lukach engineered a clean sweep in the Editorials category winning the second place award for an editorial he developed for the Healthcare and Science business of Thomson Reuters.

The firm presented the Anne Sceia Klein Professional Promise award to Allison Freeman, a senior at LaSalle University in Philadelphia. “Allison impressed us with her accomplishments and with her vision for her future as a public relations professional,” said Klein. The annual Professional Promise award was created in 2007 in honor of the firm’s 25th anniversary.

Founded in 1982, Anne Klein Communications Group provides strategic counseling and communications programs to help clients achieve business goals. Clients of the firm include Fortune 500 companies and other national and regional businesses and organizations.

The annual Pepperpot Awards, sponsored by PRSA Philadelphia, honor the extraordinary work of public relations professionals across the Greater Philadelphia region.
