Anne Sceia Klein Named Chair-Elect
of American Heart Association's Regional Board


Mount Laurel, NJ - March 11, 2009 -
The American Heart Association Central/Southern New Jersey Regional Board of Directors has elected Anne Sceia Klein its chair-elect to serve from January to June 2010 at which time she will become chair of the Board for a two-year term.

In this role, Klein will serve on the Executive Committee of the board and participate in all decisions regarding mission and fundraising in the 13-county area the board oversees.

The mission of the American Heart Association is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The regional board supports statewide advocacy to protect public health, as well as educational prevention programs in heart disease, stroke, physical activity and childhood obesity. Fundraising efforts support cardiovascular research and public and professional education. By 2020, the American Heart Association aims to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20 percent.

Klein is the founder and president of Anne Klein Communications Group, LLC, based in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. She has played a leading role in the public relations arena, both in the Philadelphia region and nationally, for more than four decades. She spent 16 years in the corporate world (including the banking and oil industries) before founding her public relations firm in 1982. As a counselor to top management, she is recognized as an expert in strategic planning, crisis and issues communications, and community outreach.

Klein is a member of the Public Relations Society of America's College of Fellows and has received numerous honors for her professional activities and accomplishments, including induction into the Philadelphia Public Relations Association's Hall of Fame. In addition, under her leadership, the agency has won dozens of awards of excellence.

A graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, she received her master's degree in communications from Penn's Annenberg School.
