AKCG Garners Four Awards at New Jersey PRSA Ceremonies;
Mocatelli Named PR Professional of the Year

Mount Laurel, NJ - June 10, 2010  - Anne Klein Communications Group (AKCG) received four 2010 Pyramid awards for excellence in public relations last night from the New Jersey chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA/NJ). The awards honor the state’s best work and top practitioners in the field, and were presented at the chapter’s twentieth annual awards banquet in Basking Ridge, N.J.

In addition to the firm’s campaign-related honors, AKCG’s Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President John Moscatelli, APR, Fellow PRSA, received PRSA/NJ’s 2010 Public Relations Professional of the Year award at the ceremony. He is the firm’s second recipient of the award as AKCG Founder and President Anne Sceia Klein, APR, Fellow PRSA, received the same honor in 2002.

AKCG received a first-place Pyramid award, in the category of “Digital Communication/Social Media” for facilitating the formation of an online community for adoptive and foster parents developed for AKCG’s client Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries, Allentown, Pa.

In the category of “Crisis Communications,” AKCG teamed with St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, Pa., to win the Pyramid award for the entry entitled, “Planning for Pandemic,” a plan anticipating the medical center’s communications response in the event of a severe H1N1 outbreak that, fortunately, did not need to be enacted.

AKCG’s third Pyramid award, in the “Feature or News Articles, Op-Ed” category, recognized an article written by Moscatelli for a trade publication, Inside Healthcare, about the newly expanded tax information reporting that non-profit healthcare providers now must submit to the IRS.

The firm won an honorable mention award in the “Online or Interactive Technology” category, also for Diakon, for developing and launching the “Building Our Adoption & Foster Care Community,” an Internet-based discussion group for prospective and current adoptive and foster parents.
